I have a Marty Davis designed Intrepid .21 outrigger that I run a Top 5 port engine in, and ive been super happy with it in the past so, I thought I might pick up another one......but I see there is a Top 7 port motor available for just a little more money, so my question is what is the advantage of a 7 port motor over a 5 port motor? Thanks! Bill

typically, a 5 port motor has more torque to low rpm and a 7 port motor has more power to hight rpm

I have ran both its all about setup the 5 port has won many races. 7 port is better but most will never find the advantage

Bill,

If you can find a Novarossi 35+ that would be even better.
Check eBay for a 35+ car motor with a more conservative sleeve timing.
You will not be disappointed believe me. With a Irwin S-pipe you will have
a great set up.

That’s the current setup of the B Hydro national heat racing champion for the IMPBA. Running a modified H6 Stainless steel prop.
It was running a the AA .21 pipe in Huntsville. Switched to the S pipe for the fall nationals and was a broken rudder servo away from winning there as well. Awesome $200 engine! Stock, I might add. Only change has been to an Orlic head button.

Brandon,
Are you running a 5 port or a 35+?

Mike,

I am pretty sure he is using the 35+ motor.
I am sure Brandon will tell us.

Thanks,
