Montana and I will be there for Saturday and Sunday. Heard Randall Thomas may be by on Sunday. Would have liked to have seen you down there on Saturday Joe K.. Am trying to arrange the hand over of the Novice Grand Price boat to the Dukes. Tony J. wants a pic for a future articale for the Rooster Tail. Mark S., I will need a few props for scale being entered at the show as well.

Why didn't Remy make it in this year, anyone know? I heard that there were a 100 vendors that weren't able to get in the show. Whats up with that? Is Weaksignals screening who they let in?

Mark, I have to go Friday because I have another commitment over the weekend.

Greg, if your dad goes, he knows where we meet up at. That's where I first met him, we talked for a long time.

I found out that I have to save money for the trip to Tony's. By the time I buy 10 hot dogs, a couple of orders of fried pickles for take-out then hit the store for 2 gallons of pickles and peppers, a T-shirt, hat and other stuff, I've walked out of there spending almost a C-note! We did dine in once there and the kids tried the MOAD's (Mother Of All Dog's) and couldn't finish them. My son always has to drag along one of his friends.

If any of you out-of-towners have never been to Tony's, it's a cool place to go. Nothing fancy as it's in an industrial area but you have to stop by for the food and great service. They treat you like you've been going there forever. The walls are covered with autographed hot dog buns sealed in plastic. It's amazing to see who all have signed them.

Any address for this tony's place ?

Sounds like some good food. Never heard of fried piclkes....... will have to try them..

Have you ever had battered pinnapple as a desert after fish and chips? had it when I was a kid, too bad the place has since closed down.

Thanks

Thomas

Tony's isn't too hard to find, you just have to watch how you get there as I keep messing up every time. When you look out of the Seagate, you'll see a large red bridge over the Maumee River which I think is 2/52. Cross the bridge and as soon as you get over it the highway divider ends. Make an immediate left there, not further down at the light as that is where I used to mess up. I don't think the it is known as Front Street there but it will turn into it. Be forewarned as last year the road was in rough shape as they were doing a lot of construction work in the area including a new bridge. Continue through that area and you will come across a Historical sign teling you that Tony's is ahead. The restaurant sits on the northeast corner but can't remember that street but I know that it does turn into Cedar Point Road. There is a map, menu and other things on Tony Packo's. The fried pickles are killer and come with 3 sauces. A warning though, the catsup is spicy as is just about all of their food. You have to get at least one hot dog there, that's what they're famous for. I also highly recommend the sweet-hot pickles and the mild peppers, my stomach can't take the Hungarians.

The food is take-out or dine-in.

If you think that you may have heard of the place, maybe you have. Jamie Farr is from the neighborhood and had mentioned it several times on M*A*S*H.

What company is the Aquacraft booth with?? I didn't see Aquacraft in the show directory. And is there going to be one of the new Miss Elam .18 hydros there to look at??

Thanks.

Josh-

They are probably in with some others, maybe Tower Hobbies. Their booth should be right up front towards the left (west) end of the room. If you can, go in the left doors and you should be able to see the booth from there near the escalator going up to the swap meet area.

Hopefully they'll have a Miss Elam there, that's what I'll be looking for at their booth.

I didn't see Tower listed either but I may have missed it. Yea I'm really curious to see one of those Miss Elams .18's. They are selling for around $280, but with Tower you can always knock $30 off an order that big. So for $250.00 RTR that's not bad.. I want to know if you could drop a .21 mac/cmb in it and run in the sport 20 class??

Josh-

Hobbico/Aquacraft looks like they are trying to make it so that you can't use the Tower coupons to keep the price there the same as what you'd pay locally. Horizon Hobby is doing the same thing. My hat is off to them for doing this as it helps to keep the Mom and Pop shops in business and still competitive with the big warehouse outfits. Don't foget that Mom and Pop aren't soaking you for shipping costs either.

As far as dumping a hot .21 in there and runing it in the Sport 20 class, Grimmie says that it should be easy to do. See the thread that Tom posted accessible from the front page. Yes, I would expect to see a lot of orange and white boats in the next year or so in the Sport 20 class.

AquaCraft is in the Hobbico/Great Planes booth. Looks like Grim will be showing up Friday afternoon. We will have our Sport 18 hydro on display.

Have fun~!

There should be a lot of IW members there. I talked to Jim Irwin last week and he'll be there Friday and Saturday but wheelchair bound so look for him wearing a brightly colored shirt.

Hey Olly

Keep an eye on my Winston Eagle for me , make sure Greg doesn't sell it .

Tim K

I will buy it for a dollar . Hey Tim will you take a cheque in Canadian funds.

:p

Will pick it up on Friday......

Dang is that the one going to be in the back of the truck, should charge a haulage fee to the show.

How much should I charge Greg.... :D

Thanks I'll be sure to stop by and check out the Miss Elam, er I mean Miss something?? he-he.. Anyway sounds like a great boat! I'm really seriously thinking about getting one..

Josh-

That's whey I do'nt go to the show. It's a waste time and you can go to a swap meet and see more.

My .002 cents

I'm heading out in a couple of minutes. Toledo isn't known for boats but I've got other people to see and related things to check out. I'll be back tonight and should have plenty of shots to share as we're taking 2 cameras.

I just got home a couple of hours ago from the show. I ran into a lot of the IW members in here including Grimmie, Ron Zaker Sr., Josh and his wife, Mark Sholund, Mark McCray, Norm Jankowski, Jim Irwin and many more that I know that I've forgotten. Somehow, a lot of us managed to meet up around Mark's swap meet table at about the same time and yakked up a storm. Everybody was wanting to see the Sport 18 but wasn't in sight. Those other people didn't have a boat to be seen at their large area, kind of odd for them.

Mark McCray entered his new Miss Bud sitting on a really nice trailer with working marker and tail lights. his only serious competiton was a Miss Winston but with his trailer it should add extra points.

As far as planes went, they went from one tiny foamie with about a 6" wingspan to a 60% Piper J-3 Cub. I had to look close to see the motor on that itty-bitty plane.
