I'm looking to exhaust the pipe through the rear of the hull like Don F shows in the Rockett build pics. I am wondering if I can use a different material to carry the fumes out the transom? Will plastic pipe survive the heat ? Does it get that hot?

Plastic pipe will NOT survive and gas exhaust is a lot hotter than nitro. Just use a piece of aluminum tubing like I did.
