Will you talk to Jerry Crowther . He will help you problem solve with teflon coupler

Has anyone used these, and how much trouble are they?
You refereing to the hard white teflon tube? Yes if they are used and setup properly never will fail. You should find a size close to what your pipe header is and use some heat to soften up the teflon then it will press over your header, you can use a metal hose clamp too. i found that if you use a wire brush and make a spiral on the pipe header you can twist the pipe to change lengths eaisly, it will screw it self in and out of the coupler.

Thanks guys. I used a 975 degree heat gun to install on the pipe after drilling the Teflon (yes the white hard one) closer to pipe od. The coupling will slide on the header. This stuff is a pain in a-- to work with. Tried boiling and no good. That's why I used heat gun. Looked up Teflon on puter and found it has a 600K melting point.

don't smell " toxic" from teflon pipe

I ordered from Rocket City Racing in Orlando Fl. Just type in rocket City Racing, should come up. I also checked McMaster Carr. They also stock it. All different sizes. Min order 12"

To had to use the Teflon coupler on my PT sport 40 because the Novarossi 46dd kept burning through the silicon ones after 3-5 heats. Works great! McMaster Carr has them as previously stated.

How well does the teflon work with carbon pipes? I would like to switch to limit having to change silicone couplers every other heat but worried about how to keep the teflon from slipping off of my outboard pipe without crushing the pipe with steel springs. Any suggestions?

Ron you need to find some super coupler. Mike Hughes used to sell it. Its not rigid, im afraid if you used teflon in a outboard setup it would start breaking pipes

Ron, I now sell the Super coupler. Send me your address and I will get some to you.

Thanks Kelly. I would really like to try some. What sizes do you carry? I need for my 21 and 46 outboards. I will PM address.
