Need suggestion on which starter to use on a outrigger with a 1.01 cmb. I would like to get a starter that will operate with a lipo. Please provide me where I can purchase them at also.

Thank you

Doug

I use the older Sullivan Model 4, but a Dynatron will also work. I run a 8S A123 battery, but you can easily switch to 3-6S lipo as well.

I would highly recommend the speedmaster starter handle and/or something with a better switch than the standard Sullivan starter.

As Chris mentioned, Boris' starter is also nice.

I purchased mine from Duralight Flight Systems years ago, but you can buy a Dewalt spare battery for a power tool and take them apart to harvest the cells.

I also like the safety aspect of A123 cells, LiFe cells are a lot more forgiving than Lipos...

A Sullivan Dynatron with 6S Lipo turns over a gas CMB 27 Alpha easy! Two Traxxas 4000 mah, 25C, 3S batteries will get me through a long weekend of racing and more. I have never put in more that 1500 mah when charging.

I know for sure - my cordless starter will over performs all setup listed above! It is more powerful and 2-3 Lb lighter. Also you can use 3S LIFE battery. Boris

The cmb 91/101 are not hard to start. A dynatron on 18-24 volts will have no problem.

There are many starters that will get you through. Then there is Boris'. His is in a class by itself.
