Stump Fabrication Offering Castle XLX2 Cooling plate

Hey Guys,
I have been working with Gabe at Stump Fabrication to produce a marine conversion kit for the Castle Creations XLX2 controller. So far these controllers have handled everything we have thrown at them including some really high amperage setups. These ESC's come fully potted from Castle making them waterproof. These ESC's are rated between 3S-8S so it cover most IMPBA and NAMBA legal classes. The XLX2 is the largest in the Castle range, we hope to work on the medium sized Mamba Max X8S next. At $40 + the $250 ESC cost we have a great marine ESC.

Does the top plate hold the cooler on? Or did you use silver epoxy?

I used the cheaper heat transfer paste and the top plate holds the cooler in place.

This is my attempt, I modified the the original top cover. I’ve only tested it but haven’t run it, I’m hoping it will be as robust as the Hydra Ice.

The newer Castles are quite a bit more robust. They are now potted so conformal coating is no longer needed. They can hold 300-350A pretty consistently and up to 475A without pulling back power. Above 500A the esc will pull back power. They run nice and cool with decent cooling.
