Just a general question I remember back when I first started boating in the early

80"s that we use to put Teflon tubes inside the brass tubes, is this this in use?

Many that use teflon will install it and then cut the stuffing tube to length, using the cutting wheel to put a slight crimp on the ends of the stuffing tube and, supposedly, locking the teflon in place. I personally don't use teflon so I'm going off of what I've seen done and been told

Not many people using it anymore. If you have a 1/4" cable use a 5/16th inner tube and a 11/32" outer tube. Once I have it all installed I remove the cable, bore a hole (remove flash with a round file) through the both tunes at angle in the stuffing tube block inside the boat that I can get a needle nose grease fitting into and grease every couple of heats.

Seems to work pretty well.

teflon drags

plus all the struts are designed to work without it i.e smaller hole for 5/16 tube

plus smaller tube is less drag (cat and rigger)
