Hi All,

I got a question regarding the stuffing box and the S bend in the stuffing tube. Are the stuffing boxes kept straight and if so how are you going about the S bend in the stuffing tube? If the stuffing box is bent how are you feeding a stuffing tube thru it? I have always been lead to believe I want an S bend in the stuffing tube?

Thank You,

Paul

paul once you set the bend in the stuffing box , glue it in place and do the usual and then take the liner or the smaller brass tubing and grease it up and shove it in, i leave a bit extra out on the end and use vise grips" preferably mac ones" and crimp it and use it as a lever to twist and push the liner up in place, hope this helps out.

the stuffing box(the one glued in the boat) only has half the "s", and then only a slight one. the other half of the "s" is in the tube that goes back to the strut. the stuffing box only has enough bend for the tube to come out where you need it to, maybe 5 to 10 degrees
