Just talked to Mike Whitney today, and he said if we can get at least 5 stock 40 boats signed up for the Gulf Coast race in two weeks he will add the class. As of right now we have 3-4 boats ready to go. If interested, let Mike know so we can get this class going again. And hopefully thru out the wcra series. Thanks Shawn

Not sure if Drew is going to this race but count us in for 1 for sure with Audra's boat. I have another one I can get ready posibly but want to see some interest out there to get this class going. Has potential to be a great starter class as much better stability than a 21 tunnel and lots of used equipment out there fairly cheap. With mufflers you don't rev motors as high and they last longer.

Gary,

I havent figured out what our frequencies will be for our Gas boats as were borrowing a couple hulls but I will commit to Audra's boat in Superstock 40 and if Andy puts old red in Mod I'll bring another boat he can drive in superstock with the can muffler motor he used at Brandon. that makes 2 from our camp now we need the rest of those that want this class to exist to ante up. Robert Pickard and Ron Ratoff have boats just not sure if there comming to WCRA. This is a good option for saving your best mod motors for the big tunnel races.

I am confussed how can bolting a can muffler on a modded engine mak it stock i thought this is stock class which would mean stock engines. My way looking at stock mean stock right out of the box. The way there doing it is no different then the way they are running now. My two cents

Im gonna let Mic or one of the other guys handle you immediate question - ;) (tunnel nube and all- )

BUT

If you dont think bolting a can motor on just about any motor levels the field,

You missed the STORM race :)

Granted a stock Kaboom has nothing for a stock CMB or Nelson-

BUT

Its DAMN good fun !!!!!!!!

Right Audra ;)

IF I REMEMBER AS LONG AS IT IS A 40 BOLT ON A CAN MUFFLER PUT IT ON KB LOWER SIGN UP AND RUN WITH THE REST OF THE DOG PACK ALL FOR FUN THANKS GARY

The CMB club started a few years ago a Sport D (40) tunnel class to be run at the Tunnel Champs race. It is not an approved "stock" class as one does not exist at present. So we created it by using any 40 engine, bolted onto a OB lower, and must have a can muffler - no tuned pipes. All else is fair game. That is how you can unbolt a can muffler after running in the Sport class, hang a tuned pipe on it and run it in the modified class.

I believe the class is called Stock in D3 Storm series, but we call it Sport D tunnel at the Tunnel Champs. It is essentially the same. The intent was to try and get the attention of some manufacturers, besides K&B, to build a complete engine. It has not happened yet. We did not want to structure the class to only one engine builder so we came up with the current rule.

Someone still need to fess up and tell me how to put my inboard Mac on this lower :p

Chicken azzes

Making me run this kaboom = just aint right <_<

LMAO

John explained it pretty well. The can muffler evens things out as if you have a high or low exhaust timming sleeve it won't perform much different. I have a Nelson with a can and have run against CMB's with cans and been beat by plain old K&B's. Opens up class to any lower and powerhead. So Andy your Mac can be made to work. Primo can show you the way there as he runs a can CMB.

The problem is IMPBA uses the term "Sport" which is regulated to production motors with lowers of the same make in the .21 class and NAMBA uses the term OPC Stock. which has limitaions also. I have been trying to use the term "Superstock" which better describes the class and won't get confused with "Sport" or "Stock" as used by national organizations.

So use a "can muffler" or run through the old uncut stock K&B lower and all else is legal in a .45 class. Bear in mind with limited horsepower, setup , prop and driving are at a premium. Great turnout in the WCRA race so far and I hope this class sticks. Thanks to Shawn and the Vision guys its getting a shot in the arm.

Mic
