How many amps do you think can be pulled from these. Is ther an IB equall? and what would it weigh?

Just a thought.

Well can't post images. But it is a GP9000D cell.

Hey Steves :D , They have a 7000 D-Size that weights 155gr and also a 4000 c size that weights 84gr. The way the proposed 1/8th rules are written the class will be voltage based so we won't be limited to sub-c. I don't think I could fit D size cells in my 1/8th and get the CG right but I think the c size cells could work. To bad they dont have a 5000 mah c size cell.

My thoughts, these large D cells are about $10+ per cell. Go Lipoly instead and forget NIMH.

Also, IB3800 cells are 4000mah+ at 30+ amps, why would you want a larger cell to do the same? I would expect a full C, 5,000mah to be about 4000mah at high current.

NIMH is not going to last more than one season, LiPoly will last longer if you select the correct pack and follow the rules. Of course you will want the boat water free inside.

LiPoly is the future, I hate NIMH myself.......Also, GP3300 are the best cells for long life.
