Any feedback on the spektrum dx4c radio? Thanks
hey rudy...Many boaters had problems with the first couple generations of Spektrum radios. Early models were SPREAD SPECTRUM and would drop out occasionally. Latest Spektrum models with DSMR are both spreading and frequency hopping and work well in airplanes. Most frequency hopping radios work well, including the cheap Chinese radios. After being burned most won't touch Spektrum ever again.
alan had issues last weekend....g2 rigger went home in a baggie...Most of the spendy airplane guys are running Spektrum radios DSMX, the Futaba airplane guys have mostly been using FAAST, Futaba has mostly been targeting the FHSS stuff at the lower end of the airplane market, budget radios for beginners. Haven't seen a lot of telemetry radios at the airplane field. I think telemetry showing receiver voltage is another step forward in safety to help solve the runaway boat problem.
Boat 2.4 radios have different needs than airplane 2.4 radios, most of the boat 2.4 problems have been solved by freq hopping radios. To my chagrin, some parkflyer shorter range recievers may drop out at the far end of the course. Use only full range recievers.
