Well the Second Annual Summer Outboard Shootout is in the books.....
What a great race we had and if you weren't there you missed a lot of fun.
I saw a lot of old friends and made some new ones.
This was an ALL Tunnel Boat race and was held in Sycamore, GA and was hosted by Jimmy and Gene Duncan and the SOWEGA Model Boaters.
We started heat racing Saturday around 12:30 and raced till around 5.
We then took a break so everyone could rest, cool off and in some cases rebuild.
For dinner we served a great pork chop dinner and then took a break to get ready for the Shootout Night Races.
There was three classes run under the lights and the Shootout Champions are:
Sport B Tunnel- Cory Duncan
B Tunnel- Kevin Lee.
D Tunnel- Jimmy Duncan
The three champions were awarded Bracelets.
Regular heat racing resumed Sunday Morning and the winners for the weekend are:
B Tunnel- Kevin Lee
D Tunnel- Jimmy Duncan
LSG Tunnel- Kem Gilley
Open Outboard Hydro- Jeff Maturo
Open Tunnel- Mitch Atwell
Sport B Tunnel- Cory Duncan
Super Stock D Tunnel- Jimmy Duncan
FE P-Tunnel- Rick Bearden
The Roadrunner award went to Joey Jones who came from Mississippi to race with us.
I would like to thank Jan Bearden for Scorekeeping all weekend and Julie for a great job as CD.
Kem Gilley did a fantastic job on the pork chops.
Thanks also goes out to Walkers BBQ for the beans and the potato casserole.
As always Kem and Julie had the site looking great.
A huge Thanks goes to Jimmy and Gene Duncan for supplying the Shootout Championship Bracelets, the Heat racing Awards Mugs and the lights for the night racing..
Oh and one other Thing......
A huge thank you to all of the racers for coming to our site.
We had a great bunch of racers....Some regulars and some first timers.

I hope all had as much fun as the SOWEGA Gang Did.
We hope to do it again next year and we hope to see you all there.
