Might get a little wet this weekend. But sure to have some fun and see old friends. Don't forget the card signing for Timmy. It was a great idea by Randy that Timmy's family will appreciate. See ya'll soon.

I have printed off some pictures of Tim and will have paper for everyone to write something abot him..His mom asked me to tell all of you thanks for being his friend and being there when he was so down. I know Timmy is in a better place and he will be at that race with the rest of us. jj

You didnt think he was just gonna hand ya pretty weather did ya Britton ?? ;)

Wish we could have made it up.

How is the weather down there? We had about 3 inchs of snow last night. First snow we had this year. Hope its the last.KEN

For those of you that didn't make it, you didn't miss much. It started raining Friday about 4:30pm and stoped sometime around midnight Saturday! We had about 4-6 inches of rain. Kem's place is a wreck. The road leading to the pond is a mud pit. Several people got stuck trying to leave yesterday he had to pull them up the hill with a tractor. SOWEGA and d-13 canceled the race around 1:00 on Saturday.

Those of us that went to the race had fun visiting with old friends and playing in the rain and mud...Thanks SOWEGA club..we know you have no control over the weather....and falling into the pond was the highlight of the weekend.....jj

What a weekend.

The SOWEGA Race Site is a mud wrestlers dream come true.

The site went from Green Grass to Black Slippery Mud.

I would like to thank all of you that entered and came ready to race knowing what the weather was going to be.

Friday we had a few hours of Open Water and Saturday was a total wash out and I do mean WASH OUT.

The race was cancelled Saturday afternoon and most everyone agreed to have a fun run on Sunday.

Sunday the weather was beautiful and we ran round one and took a break for lunch and then ran round two.

Sunday most everyone had parked in Julie and Kems yard across the pond.

Kem and Julie had their tractors and Gator busy pulling trailers to their house and trucks out of the bog.

This is the first race that we have ever cancelled and I hope the last.

Thanks to the SOWEGA gang for Getting the site ready and breaking it down after the fun run.

The site will recover but right now it is DOA.

See you at the pond...

Ricky B.

It is always a pleasure, playing in your back yard.

Well said Rick!

When you go through what we did Friday and again Saturday and still have a blast it says a lot about the people you are hanging out with.

Kem, Julie, and the SOWEGA gang we love ya.

Thank you!!

D.

Hats off to the SOWEGA gang for making the best of a SOGGY situation!

Cudos to Kem and Julie for going out of their way to help those of us w/o 4-Weel-Drive vehicles get in and out of the race site. You guys went above and beyond and it does not go unappreciated.

I think the bowling outing should become an ongoing tradition for all SOWEGA events! With a few more pointers from "COACH" Smock maybe I will be able to give Pop Huff a run for his money (if his injury heals up)!

The fun run on Sunday was a blast and aside from a little self inflicted injury to my P-Limited Rigger I escaped the weekend w/o too much work to do before Atlanta! Thanks to Ricky B. and Norma English fom manning the tower Sunday and to all who had a hand in the picnic lunch.

See you guys and gals @ the next one!

Later,

Lamar

All I can say is wow!

Didn’t do much boat racing but the weekend sure was eventful! I do want to apologize to Kem on behalf of everyone for the state we left his property in. I hope it's not as bad as it looked.

PS* - I have a picture I will show to the highest bidder of Mitch under my Jeep changing out the starter in the rain. Picture includes me in it taking a swig of his beer while I was holding it! Go figure, Mitch under a truck and no tie-wraps in sight! :D

I must agree with Rick and thank Kem and Julie for their hospitality. Perry and I had a great time and it was great meeting all the people for the first time. I also enjoyed? backing up my Yukon 4 wheel drive up the muddy road and up the mud hill backwards. Thanks to Tad for pulling my trailer out of the mud on Sunday.

Didn't stay for the weekend. Mike Crawford and I were there Thursday and Friday.

Friday nights rain gave new meaning to "It's a rainy night in Georgia".

We left Saturday morning after watching the weather channel saying 3 to 5 more inches of rain

I did have a great time meeting new racers and putting faces on names I all ready knew.

It is a nice pond / location on better days.

A big thanks to the club for being able to deal with all that happened weather wise.

From what I read here they went above and beyond to make the best of a bad weather weekend.
