Hello quick ? Is there a certain standard method used to key 3 mm pin connectors between brushless motor and speed control meaning male pin go s to motor side or controler side ? Im thinking doing so different controlers and motors can be interchanged with out re-soldering connectors if there is a standard thats been established.

I put males on the controller side that way if you ever run a lehner you don't need to change the connections. then you just put females on the motor side and your good to go with any motor you choice now or later

My Lehner motors have male plugs on them.

If I need male plugs on the ESC, I use an adapter.

Hey Guys,

males = pinsfemales = sockets

at least thats how I refer to them
LMAO!!! Now I understand why Larry is the way he is! Larry, are you male or female?

Paul.

Paul,

I really don't want to know what Larry's answer is. Kinda gives me the creeps.

But you know how HOT chicks like queer guys...maybe that's his thing?

Now you guys see if you can figure this out.

I used to tell the women that I thought I was really a girl inside.

The only problem is I think I am a DIKE.

After they thought about it they would just smile.

I always put the female on the end that would still have power if the connection were unplugged... That way it's shielded with shrink/tape in the event that the connection comes appart or if you have it unplugged for testing, etc...

Therefore, I have the female on the output side of the ESC, and the male pins on the motor leads...

...unless you want to borrow a motor from someone else - this can be a big advantage especially within your local club. Too, having a male on the output side of the ESC runs a higher risk of a short than does a female. The most common is still male on the motor....

Is there such a thing as a hermaphrodite connector?
I don't know Jim....but if there were I bet you would own quite a few! :p

My connectors are just cross dressers.....that's so my motors can change polarity!

PS...3.5 pins stink...if at all possible change to at least the 4mm ones. The 3.5 wear out too quickly. I prefer a solid solder joint....but hey that's just me.

If the conector falls of your motor when energized, you will be replacing the conector. Unfortunatly to a new esc.

Screw them damn pins mang.Jew don nee no stinking peeins man !!!

More importantly,Take care when soldering the pins.especialy on the male or to you hermaphrodites (the pointy one with the little veins on it).

I stick the male into an aluminum tube to hold the pin.Its also works as a heat sink to whick away heat from the little spring. If the spring gets too hot it will aneal it and give a bad or week conection.

Now all this talk about male things sliding into female things has got me alittle.....uh.. well off to another web sight.

Shoot Dennis,

You always come up with the tricks man. Nice one. B)

Paul/Block/Wood....get it blockhead?

I just use fuel tubing....can't afford alum like Dennis.
