Does anyone know of a way to rebuild a battery pack for a snap-on cordless impact? it is a 14.4v pack

thanks john maki

A guy I worked with sent them to battery rebuilders.com on the West Coast like $40-50 a pack. I also have a couple that could use repaired

I don't know how much your into fabrication. I have a Makita 3/8 drill that needed a $60 battery and went on the healing shelf for over 10 years. I have trouble throwing out anything. A couple years back getting int Lipo's I found a 3S 11.1v pack for our cars that fit right into the handle. Had to solder wires and a deans plug into the drill. That little 2600ma cell lasts 5 times longer than the original battery and cost maybe $15. Since I have adapted a 5S 5000ma cell to my Craftsman 18v reciprocal saw as the nicads it came with didn't last for crap. Again I can saw for a long time between charges. Nothing pretty but the tools work really well. 4S would be a natural for a 14.4v tool. (14.8v - 16.8v fully charged) I also use lipo's in my starting box.

You can carry them to any BATTERS PLUS location and they can replace the batteries in the 14v case for about 1/2 of what snap on sells them for... I run 18volt battery paks on 14.0 volt drills dailey.
