I found out today that a long time friend and model boater from the St. Louis Thunderboaters passed away today. Leon Kettle was a great scale boater and all around great person. He was voted the Bill Lefeber award back in the early 1993/4 time period and it was well deserved for all of the work he did in helping the St Louis Thunderboaters host the 1993 Internats. He also was a tremendous help in promoting model boating in both Mt vernon, IL and Evansville, IN. He will be dearly missed. I know he is prob ably up there running model boats with Gene Taylor and the rest of the old time model boaters.

Always your friend
