Anybody have a source for shaft savers? Some call them prop savers, or shaft collars...

Are you guys putting these on your flxi's between the collet and the stuffing tube.

Is there any vibration issues.

I put mine on the bottom, just before the strut.

Or I have another boat with a segment of the strut cut out, with just enough space for the collar.

If you go to the UNW website there is a link for Small Parts Inc. They have heavy duty collars already drilled for 8/32 set screws. They also have 1/8 x 8/32 stainless set screws-use them once and throw them away. They also have 4-40, stainless, cold rolled all-thread that is great stuff for making linkages and upright struts (they also have 5/32 alum. tubing that slips over the all-thread on an upright strut that gives them a very scale appearence). This stuff is way tougher than the 4-40 rod that Sullivan sells or the other junk you get in hobby shops.
