Servo Torque

How much servo torque do I need for gas boat. Would 400 Oz torque be OK on any gas boat. Thanks for your help

More than enough for anything but a twin engine rigger or mono.

Or an outboard tunnel boat. They need about 4-5 times as much torque to steer them.

400 is plenty, I use around 150. How come you want to use 400? That is some serious servo...

Didn't know how strong they should be with all the weight of the boat. Good part is their won't be a weak link for my rudder.

Steve I‘m running the Savox 1210 in my Backlash At 6.6 volts. 277 oz in. at that voltage. No issues whatsoever turning the boat on a dime. I would feel comfortable with 100 oz in less to be honest but glad I’ve got the extra torque. 400 will more than get the job done.

.12 hydro: 60oz
.21 hydro: 135oz
.45 hydro: 160-180oz
.67-.80 hydro: 220+oz
.91-101 hydro: 250+oz
gas hydro: 250-300oz
Twins: 400+oz
