Hello, is there anyone who ever heard about a belt (used with a starter for inboard engine) that can be clip and de-clip for a easier use? so the belt doesn't have to stay in the boat when it runs.

Thank's

I have seen them but it is actually used a an emergency belt for when the primary breaks during pit time. The snaps in my opinion would never hold up under regular use. To answer your question, I don't know where to get them.

There is no need for this type of belt.  Just install a second back up belt and twist it to lie in the bottom. If the primary breaks, just uncoil it and use it. My driver has done this for years, no big deal or brains needed. Besides, if you get a snap-it belt, you need to remember to carry it with you! The belt in the hull is fool proof, always there, and never in the way!! :D :D :D Works for me.

Bill McGraw atRossi Sales has them. Us Old-timers remember using a rope to start motors with. Those old enough know how it was done. ;)

Heres the source if you want to buy and start selling them.

McMaster-Carr PN 6567K52 for 1/4 inch hollow core with 6567K22 connectors

PN 6567K53 for 5/16 inch hollow core with 6567K23 connectors

The belting is about a buck or so a foot, and the connectors are $5-7 for 25 ea. Lots more on page 914 in Catalog #108. Bob Londress sold/gave away dozens of them years ago. The only thing to remember, is to roll something hard over the connector to lock it in the belt, and really pinch the other end very hard several times after joining, when in the pits. Have fun!!
