I am trying to think of a way to seal my stuffing tube (straight 1/8th shaft) where it goes through the hull. I would like to be able to still adjust the strut. I am thinking of trying to make a rubber boot of some sort that will slide over the tubeand be attached inside the hull. Anyone tried anything similar or have any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi Jim,

I would look at the Warehousehobbies web site as Tony has a product called the Iso-Pad that might be what U R looking for.

These are made for gas boats .

Good Luck,

Frank

I don't think the ISO is available either straight or in 1/8 size. And it still wouldnt allow for a straight shaft to be adjusted. The rubber boot might not be a bad idea if its a thru-the-transom mounted shaft. If you're just looking for angle adjustment you could use a universal joint.

I use clear silicon or clear seal. Seals great and hold very well with the ability to be moved around a little.
