Anyone Running a New VAC 45 in a Current Surface Drive Seaducer 45? it looks to have more Muscle than the black head picco 45. Hopefully it will pull more pitch & prop. I will soon find out.......
I don't know Joe. Last I heard the Vac .45 needs $200.00 worth the mods to be competitive. I was looking at the latest Picco .45 today and it looks sweet. Or, the AA from Al Hobbs is a work of art. Just my opinion.

Ron, I dont know who would have said that? The New Vac 45 numbers are perfect. Ex 188-190 transers 130 intake closes @ 65ATDC. Only adjust the head volume & you are ready to Rock! The Current VAC 91 will pull more prop than any 90 engine I have seen to date. I easily ran 1667 CMDI 6.9 cup full 67mm props on my twin @ charleston in Oct... Could have loosen the boat up & proped up to 7.0 7.2. The VAC 91 can be raced out of the box & that is exactly what I done. If you need a CMB Engine Groomed?? Steve wood is documenting most current CMB Race engines & is a Great Soruce for Excellent Engine Work...His prices are reaonable & the return is quick.
I got that from a pretty reliable source Joe. $535.00 for the motor and $200.00 for Stu to prep it. Why is it that Picco's can sell for $395.00 and AA's for $410.00 while the CMB Vac goes for $535.00? Way too rich for my blood.
Ron
Mr. Ron,
I am interested in accurate information being published. There are several inaccurate parts of your statement. The motor retails for $515.00. I do not make a market in doing motor work and if I did, $200 would be too much. I will tell my customers exactly what I do to set up the motor or refer them to a motor guy like Steve Wood. We ran these motors STOCK for several months with just general clean up and setting the head clearance. The power we saw was beyond any 45 motor that I have ever run. Recently, we opened the head volume by .01cc to get the head clearance down to .010" with even better results. It is great that customers have choices these days but remember, "What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday".
