I purchased a previously owned SD3 40. I installed my Mac 45 and ran the boat just the way it was set up. First thing i noticed was it ran nose heavy in the water and the rudder was super sensitive. After the first run I examined the strut angle and noticed the end of the prop shaft was not parallel to the bottom of the hull. I lowered the tip of the flex shaft to parallel and the boat picked up speed and handled so much better. From experience How does the angle and depth of the prop shaft affect running. Are there adjustments made for choppy water, Smooth water ect?

Thanks Chris

Yes i set the strut at 3/8" from the bottom of the hull and parallel as per the instructions. The instructions state to adjust from that point for your driving skill and conditions. This is why i am wondering how further adjustment affects the stability of the hull.
