Dose anybody know how the strut and rudder was intended to be installed on the SD1? was the original set up just like the SD3. I did get an email back from Jerry at seducer boats and told me why the hull is chine walking, but before I take up anymore of his time on email I thought I would see what you all have to say about this subject. after what Jerry told me, I will be raising the hardware 3/4 of an inch higher on the hull. would that be sufficient, or would it be worth the money to set this hull up like suggested on the SD3? I bought this boat in 1992 with the old school hardware set as it is in the pics attached. I do know that this hull is made for subsurface drive so I will be sticking with that. Oh ya the boat spins out coming out of corners. I do believe its due to prop walk, but have not fully determined that. I really like this boat, and would like to improve on its performance. let me know what you think. thanks

If it were me (and that's just me) I would run sub-surface drive: .50in strut drop, set parallel. Off-set rudder: 1.5in right-side. Trim plates (inside edges approx .50in - 1.0in offset from center of transom/keel), Spin-fin (right-side transom, outside edge of right trim-plate, perpendicular to hull surface). Keel-mounted turn-fin (front-edge positioned near CG with engine installed).

Start off with everything set neutral- ie. strut 0 degrees angle (100% parallel to hull surface), trim plates 0 degrees bend, Run boat, adjust bow attitude (loose) with slight angle changes in strut.

Thanks Dave. I here the terms loose or tight all the time. dose it mean that the transom is higher out of water and bow is low, or is it transom is lower and bow higher, or dose it mean the whole hall rides higher or lower? Is the keel mounted turn fin IMPBA Compliant? I remember when I was in Atlanta around 1996; Bill the speed master him self had to take it off to stay in the race.
