Hi all over the years i have been involed in r/c boats i have noticed that some mono's have rudder's placed to the starboard side other's are placed directly behind the prop .What is the advantage placing the rudder behind the prop as to the starboard side? Regards Andris Golts.

Rudder behind the prop puts the rudder in the prop blast and makes turning very touchy at best. Set the rudder two and a half inches to the right of the prop so it is out of the prop blast and turning will be more linear. Having the rudder on the right will also cause a bit of lift on the right side of the boat so as to counter torque roll as well.
