Hi guys... I've decided to refurbish a tired old Roadrunner (been told could also be a cayote) 90. Since high nitro content fuel around here (Toronto) is virtually impossible to find and expensive, I was thinking of retrofitting a 26 zenoah, lots of room for it. I know that the zen will not give me the speeds of the Picco 90, no biggie, since I'm not racing it. Has anyone tried this? Any issues I should be aware of before I start making engine bay mods? Balance issues?

Any thoughts and suggestions would be welcome.

Vince

Not sure if the footprint would be big enough for a Zen? Can you measure the inside width of the front sponsons and the length from the Trailing edge of the fronts to the prop?

You can get fuel at Hobby Hobby SIDEWINDER RACEBLEND 30% (1 Gallon) (IN-STORE PICK

Check out our NLMBC FB page: Northern Lights Model Boat Club

Inside tub width is 5" which is perfect for the gas mounts.
Inside width of sponsons is currently set @ 13" (offset to be a 3/4" narrower on the right) but it's adjustable to 18" max.
And it's 28" from trailing edge of the front sponsons to the prop.
Overall length is 46".

Just sent Marc Levac a text for his Warpath size, will report back.

I'm sure it will probably work tho.

edit: my 90 hydro is 17" x 29", if you do it I'd widen the fronts...
Terry,

I was going to say the same thing. Widen the sponson stance and switch to an extended strut, and that boat will do fine with today's gas engines.

Thanks. Brad.
