Happy New Year everyone!

I just recently bought a Rigged Insanity FE outrigger kit (Osborn Models) and was wondering if anyone out there has built one for a .12 or .18 motor. I have not done any building on it yet because i'm on the fence with the two power options. It seems like a glow boat would be cheaper to build than a Fe. Any thoughts? Will a .12 power this thing like the Aquacraft UL-1 system (which I was thinking about using for this)?

-Thanks, Kent

The little rigger should be able to heat race between 55 and 60 mph with the UL-1 system on 4S. With a SAW prop, it will probably see speeds in the 70s. I don't know enough about .12 engines to say how fast it would go in a heat race or sport setup.

Hey jayt!

Thanks for your input on this. I am going with my original plan and purchased the 6 pole aquacraft motor and 60 amp brushless controller. Should be fast and reliable I am hoping. Any suggestions on props for this setup?

I'd start with an x642 although you can probably go up to an x645, just watch the heat. The rigger will need to be running very freely to use the AC system, but then again all riggers should be running that way. ;)

I just bought one of these to build and was going to use speed master 3/16 strut and a .21 rudder asemb 3/16 shaft.Powered by a 2700 KV BL motor and lipo batt with 60 amp esc does this sound like a good combo. If not any sugustions will be great.what lipo 2c 5000 or?

and any pics of it would be great.

thanks Jake

Got a hold of the guy that makes them and he says a 7xl 540BL Fieago motor anda xpower 100 esc with 2 2cell lipo packs ran togeather should work great.

Thanks for your input! Should be interesting with the new AC system! I'll try and keep it posted.

Thanks Jake. Wow, I thought you were looking to buy an outrigger...looks like you already had one!?? The Insanity looks like a great boat to build. Have not started yet...just diong a little more research on on things for it. I'm going to run either 4900's or 5000's, depending on which sticker I buy.
