Radar gun

Been toying with the idea of picking up a radar gun to track adjustments on my boats. Looking on ebay, there are all kinds up for sale. Can anybody recommend a certain brand or what to stay away from?

The Stalker Pro is the one you want. It's not cheap, but it's the best & most accurate for what we do. Also alot of the cheaper guns do not read in 1/10ths of mph, a total waste of time on boats. There's a big difference knowing if that prop you just tried went 60.1 or 60.9!! :blink:

Grimracer and I have a Stalker Pro rader gun and this gun works great. That is the one I would buy, it was about $1000.00

Yep, The one I borrow from the Merc pro shop is a Stalker Sport, not as many features as the Pro but a little less money.

A friend has the stalker pro and it is fantastic. He replaced a 3 year old Stalker with it. The old stalker ( might have been the sport) was ok for big boats but was a pain to get a good clock on a 21 rigger and even many mono hulls. The Stalker Pro is awesome, you can pick it up 100 yards away. Pricey though.

They did give him a trade in on the old one though.

hey, try out that bushnell speedster and let us know how it works for you. people have posted mixed feeling towards it in past threads, but the jury's still out for me. Some like it, others say it's just ok or not.

What kind of prices are we talking here? I've seen everything from $200.00 to $1000.00 for radar guns. BTW, Will you be going to the Winternats? I would like to meet you in person and check out some of your boats. Real interested in one of your sport 40s.

I can get them direct from the factory here, I think the last time i sold one it was $575 i would have to check the price they have now. retail they cost about $700.

I am planning on coming down to Fla for the Winternats, hope it warms up a little more, but anything is better than freezing. If you want to buy a boat i can make a effort to bring one to sell.
