Finishing up a JAE .21 build. What are you guys using for push rod seals? Pics, links, contact info needed If I like what I see.

Thanks in advance,

David

You can get some aeromarine pushrod seals and CA them onto the radiobox or transom for FE.

You can get some aluminum seal mounts from Redline Motors. You epoxy the mount on to the transom and pull the aermarine seals over them. http://redlinemotors...ment/4526084178

You can get some Grim Racer seals at Tower. I believe they install similar to the Redline mounts but are made out of plastic. They are lighter and cheaper.

i use 1/4" brass tube, cut a short piece and glue it in the hull then slip the standard pushrod seal over the outside with a little sealer (i use shoe goo)

Sullivan precision rod #580 works great also. Doesnt take up much space on the bulkhead area. Cut a piece of 3/16 id brass tube to length, and epoxy into pushrod hole in bulkhead. Cut brass tube so 1/4" extends out past bulkhead face, and inside radio compartment. CA glue outer cable sheath to inside of brass tube. Use for throttle and 3rd channel mixture. Use 4-40 rod for the rudder and a pushrod seal as described above. Richard D

Richard,

Nice set-up, but I don't even use the brass tube, I just epoxy the cable sheath to radio box, with some ruff up and thickner. Only throttle and mixture though.

One thing may depend on wjhat rudder you're using. Mine was going to get the one that Joe selss but I have a Speedmaster mini-rudder sitting here and found out that a Grimracer pushrod seal fits nice and tight in there. The seals that Joe selss are nice also; drill a hole then Shoe-Goo it into place.

Hello Mark, good to hear the presicion rod works great for you also. I used this method on my new Blackbird .21 hydro. I agree with you about the rudder pushrod. I used a steel 4-40 pushrod and a Wood r/c pushrod seal for the rudder. Richard D
