I have a Speed Master I bought from Mike Byers and just measured where he set the CG it is at 9 "s.... I have not splashed the hull yet...?? Have CMB and TT pipe all new no trim tabs...
Know I am wondering what I should do...     I have no idea know... I guess i will brave the cold and splash it to see....  They are calling for snow flurrys this weekend here in S.C.  Mid 40's in the day and low 20's at night...This weekend high 30's low teens.... :(

the c/g should have ended up at 9 5/8, strut flat with the bottom, no tabs no fin, 440/3 prop= 53mph heat racer.

53 mph and no tabs... get out the retrieve boat.

suggested for mature audiences, your actual milage may vary, I wouldn't suggest it if I hadn't done it. toy boats really aren't worth lying about or arguing about.

Mike I'm not suggesting that the boat is not capable of 53, I'm just saying that it isn't going to heat race at that speed without tabs and finish. It the Internats, Speedmaster was well represented and those who ran without tabs finished in the retrieve boat. The boat that Won US-1 had even bigger tabs than the instrucions call for.

Joe,

I got some news, KP didn't like your setup either.

He is running 57mph. At the Invitational the water was a very good test of the boat and it performed well at this speed. I was impressed. You gotta remember Joe that 98% of the time Jr. runs a boat I took him to the lake.

   I like that. I think I'll use it.

Mike,

The Twin Craft turned out nice. Thanks for the deal.

I hope Dale isn't getting out of the sport. I always enjoyed seeing Dale and Todd. They didn't attend our race this year but I understand they were working 24/7. Anyway, thanks for the info and tell them I said "Hi".

I'm sure he has a better set up. He's going much faster than anyone I know. 57 is incredible for a 20 mono something you learn to expect out of KP. I'm sure the cg needs to go up even further, a liitle more tab area and a turn fin is needed to run that fast.

KP's boat is also a newer version than I ran this year. I'm building the same version now and will be taking his advice.

Joe: Just remember... Take KP'S advise and you'll only run 57mph or whatever number he wants you to run. ;)

Actually if he takes KP's advise he might not have to use his signature anymore of-

"Not an IMPBA world record holder in B hydro SAW, B mono SAW, C hydro SAW, C mono SAW, F mono SAW, C hydro 1/3 mile oval, C mono 1/3 mile oval, F Hydro 1/3 mile oval, B hydro 1/4 mile oval, C hydro 1/4 mile oval, C mono 1/4 mile oval, F mono 1/4 mile oval and F hydro 1/4 mile oval or any other class for that matter!"

Sorry I just couldn't resist. :p

As KP put it so eliquently-

"If you settle for stock, you get stock results!" :D

Don, if you're suggesting that I settle for stock, you don't know me very well.

As far as the sig goes, it's just a joke because I've never been to a record trial.

I know, I was just havin' a little fun. :D

I sincerely hope that all of these . 21 boats and boaters attend the 2005 IMPBA Internats in Jackson TN. I want to see heat racing 53 ++ MPH monos and 75++ heat racing hydros, running together. I am looking forward to learning a lot..... Tony J

Next move - Tony calls the bluff

Next move - Everybody folds

Tony,

I just might be there. But don't get your hopes up about the speeds. We know all too well that these boats can't go 6 laps at those speeds. At least one or two though.

<_< Jackson <_<
