It won't take a BIG motor. Just a Neu brushless 1515-1.5Y motor and 18 cells will go 66mph in a 33" Seaducer hull. That was done last week at Speedweeks in Valdosta.

the newest NAMBA Q-Mono 1/16th mile SAWS record [pending] is 59 mph and change set with a Neu motor...
the newest I.M.P.B.A. Q-Mono 1/16h mile SAWS record [pending] is 66.39 mph set with a Neu motor...
speed is a total package as you know and Hacker wasn't part of eighter of these new Q-Mono record's package...
results indicate that with a Neu motor you can match a given Hacker's rpms and swing a bigger prop...
the answer to your question is YES... IMO
