I just received this 1-Meter Pro Boat Serenity sailboat last night and started getting it ready to try out...

It's a REALLY nice looking boat when it's all together. Give yourself lots of head-room... the mast stands over 42" tall!

It's taken a couple of hours of tinkering and rigging to get it all setup to use, but I think I just about have it. I'm going to play around with it and formulate an opinion, as well as some tech-tips for future answers to future questions...

I've already re-engineered the mainsail winch, but only with minor revisions to make if function more reliably.

Otherwise, this looks to be a pretty nice quality fiberglass hull and it's pretty easy to assemble.

Having never sailed before, we'll see how quickly I can pick it up!

Now you and Jerry can set the new 2 lap record for sailboats this weekend. :p

Oh No... I can't possibly compete with Jerry's experience or tenacity!! You know what they say about "old age and wisdom"!

With a 10 mph wind from the south, I could probably complete 2 laps in 20 - 30 minutes. Not all that much slower than my 20 Outboard Mono record.

Nice... If I can figure out how to squeeze in into the car, I may bring it Saturday, in case the conditions go to heck... Never sailed before, however, so might not be a good idea to start in front of such a seasoned audience...

Racing a model sailboat can be a truly humbling experience. I have yet to finish higher than 6th in any of the 10 sailboat races I've entered.

JD, have you tried installing a .21 OB kicker and removing some ballast weight from the bottom yet? That might give you a few more MPH and even things up a little with the others that have much more stick time racing sailboats ;)
