What kind of primers are we using today on are boats before we paint on our color.
Current numbers are basically the same- DP48LF & DP401LF are for the epoxy primer. Like I've said before, I shoot the PPG DZ3 hi build primer then sand virually all off to fill imperfections. Then shoot the DP epoxy primer & paint. One of the things I really like about the DP primer is you can get it in white, makes a nice neutral base color. Well do want just any old primer, or what works??? Don't cut corners here, the primer is the heart of any good paint job, it gives the paint something to adhere to.......BigBryon said:Thanks Guys for all of the information, but there must be more kinds of primer that we can use.
We need to know what primer works the best, not that cheep old primer.
This ain't cheap. And if if ain't the best then it is probably as good.Current numbers are basically the same- DP48LF & DP401LF are for the epoxy primer. Yup. B)ClayGlover said:I thought that's the reason for using primer? Other than for a smooth fill, the only reason to prime is to prevent separation, no?
