so, carl, should all my edges & ride surfaces be true & sharp?   that is one thing EVERYBODY that has shared info agrees on. enjoyed the conversation the other day, see you found a good home for the pipe & ob stuff. look foward to john joining me in 20 tunnel next year!

Hi,

I ran a spitfire for a few years. You need to sheet the rear faces of the sponsons

with real thin ply. This way you can fill and get a really sharp edge on the sponsons.

Made a great improvement on the way it ran. I still had to add a little weight

with the battery to the front because it would get extremely light at speed. I was

running a mod. motor with short Garcia pipe and turbo head button. It was a fun

boat.

Hi Keith! I also ran a garcia pipe with the spitfire. I actually had a gardner XXL exhaust throttle and garcia pipe that I bought from Lee Garcia at NAMBA Nats in PA! What a great combo!!! If you ever want to sell that pipe, let me know.

Thanks!

Robin, I built a 7.5 version and still have the set-up instructions & could send a copy if that would help. I have 3 or 4 different battery packs(light to heavy) that I can place between the sponson booms to adjust weight distribution. A hopper tank was recomended for larger than stock carbs. E-mail for set-up instructions or pics. Good luck, Glenn [email protected]

glenn, my spitfire is a 3.5 version. i got a complete set of instructions & all factory updates from shark, when i bought it ;) . i weigh all my batteries, & use them to trim my tunnels also. thanx for the advice & the offer of instructions, though. it IS appreciated. i was more looking for tips that were learned from running the boat, that might not be in the setup sheets.
