I have a NIB Prather Offshore Deep V that's been on the shelf for ever. It's never been touched. Before I build it, are there any hints or tips to improve the performance?

When we ran the Prather 31" Vee I stuck 6 oz. of lead to the bottom of the hull under the engine.
