I was informed by one of the Aussie's that there is a problem with the 14.5mm OB cranks in a 35+ engine These cranks are from the current batch. It problem has to do with the length of the 14.5mm section. It appears that it needs to be 1mm longer according to them. If you purchased a 14.5mm OB crank from me. Please check it against the original IB crank. If there is a problem with yours let me know and I will get it straightened out.

I do not have a 35+ NR engine of my own to confirm this. I would like to have someone that is in the USA that bought one. To please send me there engine and conversion kit to check this out. I will reimburse you for the shipping and efforts.

i just measured mine and it is the same length as a 14mm crank which indeed is too short..the 14.5 mm crank needs to be .040 longer..let me know the deal also..thanks Martin

Yes I did Martin. I am waiting for Glenn's engine. I think I will end up making some light press fit shims to fix the problem. That is if I determine that it will work as a fix after I get receive Glenn's engine.

Thank you,

Mark

THe difference is likely due to the 14.5 mm crank motors using a 5mm thick front bearing. THe 14mm cranks use a 6mm wide front bearing. ).040" is almost exactly 1mm. A 1.0mm shim should fix the problem.
