Hey Anthony, looking from the back of the boat.1/4” above and 1/4” right of the center of the prop shaft will get you in the ballpark. Run it far enough behind the prop so every prop you may try will clear it without hitting. I haven’t found that distance to be critical.
I have actually found that it will pick up enough water from the prop blast/rooster tail. I place the pickup tube at about 2 o'clock position as the previous posts stated but above the arc of the prop.
In fact, I filed the K&B outboard pickup tube so that it is just above the tip of the blade.
