Port side turn fin ?

Hi all i noticed ther are a fair number of mono's set up with a turn fin on the port side . What advantages are there to having a turn fin port side besides turning the boat left? Should a port side turn fin also be shorter then the starboard side? Regards Andris Golts.

Other then turning left there isn't one. Most of the time a shorter fin on the port side is fine. If it needs one at all.
