I've tried several times to stick a plastic tank into a glass hull with shoe-goo. It never lasts and soaks up oil, solvents, nitro etc. The tank won't stay in the boat for any length of time at all. Even the tank dots onto a metal tank won't last with shoe-goo. Is there something better I can use to hold the tank in? Suggestions please...

I rubber band it down and in the front of tank put noodles so it stays also might want to try a strip of wood in there to hold in place.

I run plastic tanks in both my 21 Speedmasters. I put a piece of foam pipe insulation along each side of the tank and secure it with a rubber band. Then it is a friction fit between the stringers, and I just push it up under the deck toward the bow of the boat. my hopper tank just sits between the outside of the stringer and the hull under the deck.

I use a piece of pink foam the same stuff I make my sponsons out of. measure the hight of the spot you want to place the tank and cut out the foam to fit . Make it a little small and push them in to front of boat . Snug as a bug in a rug and it also gives rigidity to hull and flotation.

Ron, another option is to build a tank tray out of ply. I like to glue 3/8th square birch to the top of the tray on each side of the plastic tank. Then install two cup hooks on each birch rail, and rubber band the tank, inbetween the birch rails. The 1st mono i had many years ago, i just glued the rails in the bottom of the hull, in front of the engine. The plastic tank sat right on the floor of the boat. When i retired that mono, the tank wore a small hole into the fiberglass bottom. Richard D

could always do what us tunnel guys do,,, clear silicone it down.. scratch the bottom of the tank and the surface your sticking it to.. also clean the surface's with alcohol before trying it...
