Places to go boating

Hey gang, my grand daughter is going to school at Chico State University in Northern California and I don't want to get stuck hanging out in the motor home when we go visit her.

I'm looking for a place near by (within 60 to100 miles) where I can go boating.

Does anyone have any ideas?
