OK, I got two new CMB 80 Greenheads done up bye Steve Wood ready to go in my roadrunner. I had a pair of Irwin pipes previously in the boat but Im going with somethin different cause I dont think they worked to good with the previous engines. OK, Anyone who runs these Greenheads, what do u think is a good pipe selection for them. I figured Id give asking a try seeing as how much pipes cost nowadays and Im going to have to buy two of them. I dont want bickering over what is the best, I want suggestions on what works for some of you guys. I either need a muffled pipe or a regular pipe with a stinger. Whats your favorite setup? ;)

Thanks in advance,

Larry Gempp Jr.

we like the cmb pipes, and the cooper add on that stu worked up might be the ticket. the macs quiet pipe would be my 2nd option . also cooper has been working with another design, that i started with him, and **** jones has refined this some. don't know if they have it right yet. check with mark voorhies or **** on this one

Thanks Steve, I knew you would be the first to help out. Those are the black CMB fat belly pipes your talkin about? Can you get those that Stu had from cooper yet? How do you guys feel about the AB Parabolics? I do really like how those CMB pipes were on your guys boats.

i think cooper should have those available, stu may have some also. yes ,fat belly pipes. i've never run an ab pipe, and can't comment on them.

Hi Larry

I've been working with .84parabolic pipes in my CMB's(80 and 101) now and they work good for me ...maybe your choise for muffled pipes.Stingers are opened and for the 80 the pipe is set at 11"and for the 101 at 11,5".

Gill,

Have you tested the dB levels for the 101 with that pipe? The older parabolic pipes had a small baffle hole. is that drilled out?

larry,

go with the cmb big belly pipe's with the cooper mufflers.. stu sold all he had.. so i would give steve cooper a call..

second option, we tested a mac's 13cc quiet pipe.. rane about 82-84 mph but i feel when the summer time comes it will not work..it was opened up on the stinger also to .500.

the cmb pipe's ( in my opinon ) are the best so far.. and with coopers/stu's new add on muffler you won't be disapointed.

start them at 11 3/8 and run them.. you will like it.

let me know if i can help

chris

Hi Dan

Yes the baffle is drilled out to the same stinger diam....its the last bacth pipe from Andy and dbsnoise around 88dbs.Last week with the new ABC(changed the AAC) ran 88.5mphs on 35%nitro.

Is that new add on muffler the little mushroom shaped guy. I've heard that they work fine but has anyone made one that looks a little more aerodynamic.

gotta make'em sexy some kind of way.

Larry,

The CMB big belly pipes are hard to beat for guaranteed performance, and the Cooper

ad on muff will quiet them down, there is a new Cooper pipe being tested that is designed after

the CMB big belly that is a quiet pipe, and testing looks very promising to be an equal in performance.

Give Steve Cooper a call, he'll fill you in. 417-358-7117.

As a second choice, I agree with Steve Wood, Macs pipe.
