What pipes are you running on your .67 MACs in monos? I have several pipes now but don't know what would work best. I have an Irwin.67, Mac.67 muffled, Cooper quiet and a Macs 13cc quiet. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Glenn

Pretty good selection you have there ! I would try the Brown Muffled pipe , just make sure the stinger is drilled to the id of the actual stinger tube . Then try all the rest but your needle will change drastically due to differences in back pressure between pipes .

Thank you Tom, I do have a A.B. pipe but will have to "liberate" it from a hull I'd really like to run. Would the larger volume of the 13cc pipe be a problem?

Thanks,

Glenn

hi glenn, try a macs 11cc pipe or a cmb "fat belly" pipe.prather 250 prop.50% nitro. mike.

Thanks Mike and Phil, Fuel will be 50% ODonnells and I have several other props-X460/3, P245 and P250 to try. Forgot to mention I run at 4200 ft.. The P-250 has a lot of pitch-but I'll give it a try.

Thanks again,

Glenn
hey glenn, sorry i forgot you live way up there.like phil said 13cc pipe may work, but not sure with that high alt.and thin air.245 may be the better choice to start out wit. also a 457/3 blade? mike.

I would use the X457 prop and if the cooperpipe is a dual exhaust pipe I would set it at 10 1/2 inches to the first weld,

You will be pleasantly surprised,

if it is the older single exhaust pipe I would run it at 11 1/4

With this prop x457 and 50 percent fuel and a suface drive with the strut set at the correct height, U should be able to run pretty good even loosing 1 atmosphere of air because of your altitude.

Hope this helps

Glen,

I live in Colorado at about 4,100 feet and run a x455/3 pitched & notched with a .67 CMB green head. Tried the CMB fat pipe and it runs good in cool weather but might fall off the pipe in 80 to 100 degree heat in the middle of summer.

Brad, Do you know the Hollands in CO.? Think they are running the .67 MAC's at the same elevation.

Thanks,

Glenn

Glenn,

I know Robert has been running a .67 CMB and not sure but I think his brother is using a Mac. I heard Robert a couple years ago talking about running a 2-blade Octura around 455 or maybe 457 but maybe he will give his setup away to you if I am not watching IW!?

im running a muffled macs .60 pipe on my 0S .46 mono engine seems to turn on at 70 throttle nice pipes try the .67 cooper pipe on rossi sales website the new cooper QHP pipe is an amazing two band pipe and very quiet i wish it wasnt so quiet but some like it quiet pipe turns on more power than the macs ... i like macs but i think there baseline cooper and andy brown make awesome mono pipes hope this helps thanks

i lived in denver and ran a .67 with a macs pipe ran a picco twincraft and ran rich as %$%$ , good pipe try not running a /3 bag but try a x series octura prop i think your pitch is off try a X 450-X455 OR A M series with the macs pipe

Lance, Decided to try a AB muff.pipe first. I'm not tossing out the Macs,Cooper QHP, Irwin or any other pipes. The weathers the problem now. 6" of nice wet snow last night and now it's dumping again. I think Jeff Foxworthy said there are 4 seasons in Utah-almost winter-winter- still winter and road construction.

Glenn,

Sure do know the Hollands, we all race together here in Colorado. They have more so used the .67 Mac motors in the CMDI SGX riggers.
