Guys,

I've set up a Cal-Craft .21 Mono w/an OPS .21 side exhaust w/OPS tuned pipe. Guessing off the top of my head the length is set at 9 3/4. Where is the best length for max speed. I ran it already and it ran great but not to fast. Is 9 1/4 to short??

Rodney

is the pipe a quiet pipe?? if so ur not supposed to cut it down

the wuiet pipes are supposed to be longer than regular pipes

if not i really cant help u

:)

I could think of no better place to start a thread on THE ALABAMA CRAG-DANGLE

Just testing the waters here for some intrest in the subject ;D

Rodney,

we used to run the 21 OPS pipe really short - 8 1/2 plug to weld from memory, with a X440 / 3. It was years ago so forgive me if I sound unsure......

Tim.

Rodney,

There’s some really good articles on pipe length at :

http://rcboat.com/past.htm

I usually start on the long side (around 9.25”) and shorten it up in increments. I use a pipe cutter and cut off 1/4 “ inch at a time until either I top out in rpm for a desired prop or I start loosing launch ability.

Ben,

I know the origins of the Alabama Crag-Dangle are from page 69 of the Karma Sutra. Maybe that was intended for another forum on pipe length? ;D
