I am looking at replacing my PIP.45 that uses a squre drive system and a brass collet with a .45 ops that uses the conventional collet that pinches on the cable. My problem is that the original drive line uses the square type coupler where the end of the cable just fits inside the end of it.

The square coupler of the PIP will not fit the onto the OPS so would I be able to find a square coupler for the ops or should I try and remove the cable from the brass thing back by the strut and replace the cable with one that will also fit the coupler that came with the ops at the engine and one that is the same size as the part at the rear of the flex cable and the strut.

sorry I do not know the name of the thing the coupler goes into just ahead of the strut it has the 2 set screws in it.
