For sale, Picco 45 EXR Bluehead engine. This is the version before the Blackhead EXR. The motor is in very, very good condition, clean, with some mild mods. The piston & sleeve has no scratches or gouges, and has bump at the top. The piston is skirted, and the sleeve has stock timing. RPM rod, great bearings, and a custom spraybar on the carb which has the low end needle removed. Included, is another piston, sleeve, and stock rod assy. This has hardly any time on it, if any at all. Same mods to the piston as before. There is also another wristpin and a flywheel collet.

$160.00, you pay shipping.

Thanks,

Steve Ball

could be? Because, from what I understand, Mantua Models UK, Ltd aquired/purchased OPS factory a few years back. Dave c/o "Got Nitro" appears to be the official USA dealer for Mantua Models UK product line, which includes the current and legacy OPS line of primarily marine & car engine products.

And now, very recently, it appears that there is a completely new release of the OPS .45 Marine engine, which happens to physically resemble the most recent Picco P45R Marine release, exactly (crankcase, etc.,...). It's literally a re-badged Picco P45R marine. Only incorporating a new machined water-cooled head with "OPS" badge, but using the original OPS .45 marine flywheel assy. I don't think this is a coincidence. This seems to confirm (to me) that the new owner(s) are sourcing parts and services from both factories. Now I'm curious to see what products will (mysteriously) appear on the market next?

Hopefully either "Got Nitro" or "Mantua Models UK, Ltd" will eventually update their web-sites to reflect a new line of products. Currently the site reflects a hodgepoge of mostly older/previous OPS engine products:

I know a boating mate and long time picco engine fanatic not far from me .

He tells me he still can get engines special order directly from picco.

Good old 98 bluehead picco. I still have a few of these in the shop. Great motors. Got a couple of 99 blueheads as well.

As I stated in another post last week, the assumption that the OPS motor is a rebadge of the picco is totally false. It is close in bore and stroke to the motor listed here, but not exact. If you buy one thinking you will interchange parts with an old picco, you will not have anything that you can use.

There has been a lot of assumptions about this motor based off of seeing something shiny on the internet. I would suggest you actually measure one before you continue to lead people in the wrong direction.

I am waiting to hear back from the manufacturer on something before posting the specs on this motor because of something I questioned. I will post something in the motors forum soon.

I did'nt see your other post Mike. So did you actually have the opportunity to measure and compare your new OPS .45 marine sample to the [most current] Picco P45R marine yourself?

Just to clarify: I'm not speaking of comparison between the so-called new OPS .45 Marine and this Picco P45 EXR Marine version (in this listing), I'm referring to comparison of the new OPS .45 Marine to the most recent Picco P45R Marine (released in 2011 I believe).

Actually I posted that question myself in a previous post (over a month ago)- whether they are equal or not internally?

http://www.intlwaters.com/index.php?showtopic=48511&p=694033

You could have replied your findings there.

The 2011 Picco P45R crankcase casting design has some noticeable differences from the EXR version, I would never assume those two versions were completely equal inside/out.

Anyway, that's part of what this forum is for- to have dialog and clarify any discrepancies. Also, I don't mean to carry-on within this thread, this topic/subject should be continued in the "Motors Forum".

Here is the other post. Thought you would have seen it since you replied on that thread at one point.

http://www.intlwaters.com/index.php?showtopic=71994&page=2

I am referring to any made Picco engine. Yes I have one of the new OPS motors or I would not have said anything and as I said will put out some information on it in the next few days. I will start a new thread. The reason I responded here was because of the statement made "It's literally a re-badged Picco P45R marine. Only incorporating a new machined water-cooled head with "OPS" badge, but using the original OPS .45 marine flywheel assy." followed by a bunch of links on where to buy one, which is misleading.

I am done posting on this thread as well. I was just trying to keep other boaters informed so that they would not go get something based off of information that was false.
