42x55 is a great place to start. My favorite version is back cut .090" and cupped to 3.8". I've also run an ABC 1614, touchier setup than the 42x55. X442 with the tongue removed isn't bad either.

have you guys had a look at the alloy props from octura i just recived some and thought they were impressivly light is this an advantage or a disadvantige i have heard meny nitro hydro racers saying a bigger flywheel can spin a heavy big prop but then why would so meny companys offer lightend flywheels for more rpm? neu recomends a octura x450 for a 1527 motor i just recived mine and it came in alloy the weight is half of a x447 bronse. testing will come when the ocean is flat. i took my boat out with a m445 and was flipping at 40mph on 4s

check it out

What alloy are we talking about? Aluminum? Too soft and you can throw a blade.
