I was informed that yesterday Joe Rood the voice of so many years of our races and Big Thunder the unlimiteds in Evansville suddenly died. This is a huge loss for our club and all the folks that race with us.Joe knew all the boaters and there boats by a glance, the color commentary was as much a part of our races as the race itself. Mike Schindler President RCRC rest in peace my dear friend

I am very sorry to hear that. Joe and Chuck had a real special bond, not to mention they are both die hard Greenbay Packers fans. I will have to tell him after his friends leave. Mike is right in saying that his commentating was awsome at the race. Rest In Peace Joe, You will be missed. Ken, Chuck, and Family

I'm really sorry to hear that MIke I know he has always done a great job for as long as I have been going to your races back in the late 80's he had a good handle on our boat racing and really spiced up the action. He will be missed!

Mike,He was such a gentleman.

Thanks guys Joe was a gentleman and knew as much about our racing as we do. Its going to be hard to fill his shoes, one glance at a heat sheet and he knew whos boat belonged to who all weekend long. He also kept the guys on the stand paying close attn. and offered all his time for free. It was just a shock to hear the news and wont fully sink in till the first heat of the spring race.
