Haven't seen Oscar in years , I loved racing in Elmira when they were at the airport .

Alot of Oscar's equipment was picked up by my friend Dudd W. I have one of his Eagle .45 Black and Yellow still running great. I think Henry Green is still in touch with him.

Oscar was one of the most animated modelers I've ever seen. I asked him once what he did for a living knowing dam well he couldn't waste his personality on anything but sales. And guess what, he was a salesman. A tough competitor for sure but easy to psych on the drivers stand. I used to call his mono start the "Leach crawl" cuz he'd limp around and be right there at the start every time. If you were able to play his game you could push him over every time, not that Forcier would ever call him on it. Lol Anyway, a fun guy to race against. I miss the Elmira airport site for sure.

Last time I saw Oscar he was running from Joe Warren at the 2002 Internats....Joe was packing a fire extinguisher and pulled the trigger on him

pete forcier is still racing in the elmira area , the new site is smaller than the airport site , racing starts at 10:00 am and stops at 6:00 pm , lots of shade trees , overall a shorter day of racing but not as tireing as the air port site....bob

We had some great times at the airport lake, only place where you would be running in a heat and a WWII bomber would clear the trees leaving the airport. :blink: Don't save many trophy's but have one from 96 in F-hydro. we ran 5 rounds, had a perfect score of 2000 points. B) ==={}

Lots of great memories from the Airport pond , leaving the pond drive through the ditch and your on the Intersate. :eek:

Yup, I had fun going up there during the summer to race at the old airport pond and watching the "FuddyDuddy" B-17 fly overhead each day was definitely awesome. B) You could actually pay and go up in it for I think was an hour. We all decided the next year we'd go for a ride when we drove up for the July race. That spring they moved it to Texas. :(

That was funny. Oscar had came to the nats with a 50ft spraying water gun. After he came to my area and sprayed the backside of my 52 inch fan blade I went into the trailer to get my water gun too.. it was a 40lb fire extinguisher. Oscar... followed me right into the trailer as the Clip was pulled and the pin hit the floor between my legs.... He looked down and said WTF.... And I say....... and your still standing there??? Even I was surprised what came out the end of that old fire extinguisher hose. Needless to say the water gun fight was over for the Week!!!!!!! the look on the kids faces that were playing around the tents was priceless as they all ran in the porta johns so they could breath again..... BUT... They found out that on day 4 you cannot breath in there either..... :lol: :lol: ... we did have some fun that week... B)

If we're telling Oscar stories...

I am just about to celebrate my 10 year anniversary of my first and only encounter with Oscar, May 2002 Evansville Internats...

One boat racing day that I'll never forget.

Oscar, during my very first heat, at my very first Internats, just after the starting horn went off, felt he needed to help a new racer (as all good racers do, right?) by expressing, in his own words, what he thought I could do better on the race course. Oscar expressed his support about my driving by getting in my ear and boldly stating (insert best Southern accent here)"You drive like an @$$ hole!!!

I thought my pit man and he were going to come to blows during the heat. (He knows who he is)

For the record, Oscar's opinion was at that time & is to this day, incorrect. :D
