Mike, if you are running good fuel then a hot run won't hurt your motor. 2 fins sounds about right, (but it also depends on other factors).
When I first got the .21 5 port motors in I ran one for all of the break-in and 2 complete races (in the hot TX/NM summer) with never a single drop of water cooling! It ran great each heat until either just after the race or on the last lap and then it would just quit from the heat. I tried to see what the extreme abuse was going to do...after getting it so hot that it just quit about 5 or 6 times it still feels fine and I continue to run it even now with the same bearings, rod, etc.
I would say just run your motor and if it acts like it is getting hot, just bring it in and richen it up. I you are not able to keep it from overheating with needle adjustments, then it will be time for more cooling fins or water.

Mike, I guess I should add that this is with a Nova motor. I'm not sure what alloy OS uses in their P/S and how it will hold up to the heat.
