Mike Z.(Grimracer) has one in his Ninja Outrigger that runs with the best of em..... I personally feel that OS engines in the right hands can be very competitive.....

I have had very good luck with the VZM in a OZ SPEC rigger. Rpm to the sky and very reliable. I had a P/S set wear out prematurely after only 1/2 gallon but it ran consistent and was very fast. I never had any issues with speed and was as fast or faster than the A hydro's in our club. My issue was gas tank and servo related which caused me to not finish many heats. I ran a SSP pipe at 7.25" and a Mark Sholund prop. Don't hesitate to run them. I'm not sure how much better the VZM version runs as i run the VZB with a VZM P/S and modified carb/crank.

Having said this..

Use the OS 20-J

or

CMB black

or

RG carb

Also.. if you want or might... you might want to change the flywheel to the CMB unit. The one that comes with the OS has a recess and the flex is a tick harder to tighten as well as use. (i have and do use the stock FW on one of the two I have running)

Also.. sorry

You have to lock the plug cooler in place or it will get blown off during use. I make a little locking system for this so let me know when you get a little closer.

I like the OS P3 plug in it as well.
