I posted this in the mono forum about the G23 in a 38 Seaducer

But thought I would toss it out here for grins -

Funny this comes up.

I have a VERY old school 60/80 surface drive Seaducer thats 40.5 inches long.

And the weight is right in line with the current sub-surface drive B-Mono Seaducer Im running now.

(within ounces)

I have really given some thought to tossing all the .45 stuff on it and see how it did-

I kinda like the fact I already have a cowl for it- and its a little longer (2.5inches) and a little wider

it may just work

I could certainly free the hull up a ton and let it eat

That .45 Mac looks awful tiny in there though....

Been there many years ago. tried running a surface seaducer 60 with a Black head picco 45. @ the time Seaducer Did Not build a Surface Drive 45.... Slow off the corners, required a Strange prop that I have never ran. Was a large waste of time. Put the engine in a Surface drive 45 Microburst & was Back to flying again............ You can power UP a hull but Normally Not Down.....

Put a CMB 101 in it and race offshore

We tried the 90 in it- fast yes

rough water- forget it .......WAY to short to run with gas boats

Thanks Joe, it is shorter and lighter than a standard 60 boat was the only reason I though about it

Foley- well you know

Andy from what I learned the Contact area to the water to too great. I have 45 motors that turn what use to be a 60 size props years ago. But the contact pad-area is too wet for the HP ratio.

Thanks Joe,

the old 40 sub-surface boat runs really good, no complaints- had this one sitting there and had to ponder the idea

Might just head it off to the "For Sale" section and let it go-

no 60 Monos in these parts to speak of and it certainly WAS NOT happy with a 90 in it

not in Gas chop anyway, we have to run Open Mono at the One days........

What do you mean there are no 60 MONO's in them there parts????

Gene Mongar, Ron Ratoff, Fred Robson, You know Jerry' got one stuffed away, I think I remember Tommy C. having a hull.

So you & Tommy build yours that makes 6 that could make the class.

Look @ 60 Hydro, a year ago that class wasn't making, look what has come out of the word work in that class.

How about TRYING to promote the class, rather than condem it

If the statement "no 60 Monos in these parts to speak of "

is going to kill a class that has made 3 x in the last 2 seasons -

I really am sorry Rick

Im pretty sure Im better served at this point promoting a class that I have a complete and running boat for (X-Mono)

Unless of course you want to send me everything less tank-hull- and radio box -for the C-Mono

Then Id be glad to run with ya at the Tampa 2 day ;)
